Monetizing the blog, the first thing that every one do when they start a blog if they have heard about making money online. Is it a good idea. Monetizing at the start without considering or without not knowing whether you are going to use the same advertising program forever or whether you are going to stick with online money making for a long time.

There are so many training programs and blogs about making money online by maintaining a blog which has thousands of visitors per day. And most of these programs/blog promote online advertising programs like Adsense, Text links ads. So, most of the beginners new to this business try to monetize their blog at the start hoping that they can make some money. Most of the time they don’t know about this and they start the blog because they want to make money because people who promote those say they are making 5 or 6 figure income just by monetizing their blogs.

Bloggers who has thousands of visits for a month can make money by monetizing their blog. But it’s not true for new blogs. The thing is that blogging has spread more than ever and there are thousands of blogs out their. Chances that your blog will getting notice by people is low except that you make you article a hit, it became popular in good social network or you become a guest blogger of a popular blog. Also there may some more ways that you will become a super start blogger very quickly. But it’s not true for millions of bloggers out there.

So to prove why you must not monetize your blog at the beginning or if you have less than 10 thousand hits for month lets take popular Google Adsense as an example.

Adsense has a payment threshold. If you can’t reach that threshold they wont pay you. If you decide to cancel your account you can get the amount you have earned. But it also have a cancellation threshold. So if you add Adsense to your blog and you make 35$ in 2 months, but you can’t get your money until you reach 100$. After some time you forgot about it. By doing it you are just making money for Google. It’s true that you can get some your money if you cancel your account and you have reached cancellation threshold. But most of us didn’t do that. We just forget about it and let it be there as it is.

Also most of the other programs also have Adsense like policies. So by monetizing your blog and abandon your effort after some time only makes those companies profitable. Because they have charged their customers for the adds you publish for them. There may be millions out there who have 0-99$ in their Adsense account and abandoned their Adsense account or blog. By doing it you are just making money for them.

So think twice before monetizing you blog or web site.
